Description

UNO is the classic family card game that’s easy to pick up and impossible to put down! Players take turns matching a card in their hand with the current card shown on top of the deck either by color or number. Special action cards, like Skips, Reverses, Draw Twos, color-changing Wild and Draw Four Wild cards, deliver game-changing moments as they each perform a function to help you defeat your opponents. If you can’t make a match, you must draw from the center pile. And when you’re down to one card, don’t forget to shout “UNO!” The first player to get rid of all the cards in their hand wins. Now card game-lovers can get UNO in a sturdy tin that’s great for travel and makes storage stress-free. Colors and decorations may vary.

There are two decks of cards inside of this sturdy metal container. The cards are beautifully designed and crafted. They will provide timeless entertainment. It also contains instructions for playing games. They arrived ahead of the scheduled date and were well packaged. Thanks!

Love the game! Fell in love with the game when we went out of town with friends for a birthday party! Great for kids and adults!

Good quality container for storage is a bonus! Can’t say how often paper boxes for uno and other games tear apart. Wish more games came with a metal container.

I grew up playing Phase 10 and recently introduced it to my children. I have them hooked and we play all the time. 🙂 The carrying case is perfect! I love the solid tin. It keeps the cards nice and organized and easy to toss in a bag to take on trips. Phase 10 is super hard to find in stores…so glad Amazon has this!

I love UNO. It’s a simple game that two or more people can play. The game play does not last for too long and it’s pretty interesting but not mentally complicated.

Note about the case: You open up this tin case and the cards are split in two and nested in a flimsy paper cutout. I’d ditch the paper cutout and use a rubber band to hold the cards together so they don’t get all mixed up in the tin case.

This deck of cards is slightly different from the UNO I am used to. This has 3 cards (if I remember correctly) that are blank / Customizable Action Cards. You are supposed to agree on an Action (e.g., add 10 cards and skip turn) and then write the action onto the card in pencil. I took these cards out of the deck. I just want to play a fast game of UNO without debating about and filling in the blank Action cards. Who has a pencil laying around when they want to play UNO? The greatest thing about UNO is that you don’t need pencil/paper around to play the game. You could keep score but I never do and just play until one player has zero cards.

There is also a card that was not included when I was a kid: the Shuffle Hands Card. You throw down this card and then collect everyone’s cards. Shuffle all the cards together and then deal them back to each player, starting with the player to the left of the player who played the card. Deal the cards until there are no cards left.

I had to read the instructions a few times to understand the Shuffle Hands Card. It’s an interesting card. Adds a little pizazz to the game. I don’t mind it.

We just played this for the first time last week with friends and had to order our own set. This game is so much fun. The only problem is the manufacturer has now changed the card that shows the phases from showing sets and runs to letters and numbers. For example, on the new card, a set of three now just shows AAA or for two sets its AAA + BBB. If you’ve never played this game before, thats very confusing. Change it back to simply saying sets and run. The card you see in the photo is not the card you get.

The Mattel Games UNO Card Game has become a staple in our family game nights, and for good reason! This classic card game never fails to entertain both kids and adults alike with its simple rules and endless possibilities. Whether we’re at home or traveling, UNO is our go-to game for making memories and sharing laughs.

The beauty of UNO lies in its versatility. It’s easy enough for young children to grasp, yet strategic and exciting for older players. The deck includes a variety of action cards that add an extra layer of excitement, keeping everyone on their toes until the very end.

Additionally, the compact size of the UNO deck makes it perfect for taking on the go. Whether it’s a road trip, a plane ride, or a weekend getaway, UNO is always packed and ready to entertain. Plus, it makes for a fantastic gift for kids of all ages, ensuring hours of fun for the whole family.

Remember when families and friends actually played board games, and card games? Instead of a living room with no conversation, just a bunch of people tapping and swiping their phones? Well getting this UNO set can help you relive some of the magic from the good old days. When everyone actually had fun and interacted with each other.

Believe it or not, I forgot how to play UNO. Which is weird, considering how much I played it when I was younger. Even as a young adult. But just like riding a bike, you never really lose it. Open the tin, break out the cards and the rule sheet. And in a minute, it all came back. So easy to play, that even toddlers can participate.

BONUS TIP: HOW TO GET EVEN THE SMALLEST KIDS INVOLVED

So Mattel recommends that kids ages 7 and up can play. But any kid 4-6 can most likely grasp the basic rules, as long as they can recognize numbers. The catch is that it may not hold the attention of a five year old all that great. But there’s a way that you can still put the UNO cards to good use, while enjoying some bonding time with your little ones. Here’s what I figured out, after a couple of games of UNO with our Little Girl….

Make it a memory game. What I did was go through the cards, and picked out two identical ones for different numbers/colors. So two green 5 cards. Two red 4 cards. Two blue 2 cards. Two yellow 7 cards. I tried to avoid sixes and nines. Basically take eight to twelve cards in total. Then place them in two to three rows, face down (UNO side up). I’d ask our Daughter to flip a card over. Yellow 7. Okay, now try to find the other Yellow 7. And she gets to flip over another card. If it’s not the right one, I let her know that was a really good try. Now let’s flip the cards over, and try it again. If she gets it right, I congratulate her, and she gets so excited. This way, she can play a simple game that also helps her work on her memory skills. So she can remember where certain cards were, and match them up. When she does well with six cards, I bump it up to eight cards. Then ten cards. It’s simple, but fun for the smaller kids that may lose interest in actually playing UNO. And she still gets to have fun with the rest of us.

There are no negatives about this set. The only thing that could have possibly been improved, is to have made the tin a tiny bit more travel-friendly. The two stacks of cards are held in plastic, inside of the tin. But it seems like they could have simply made the tin much smaller, and still fit the cards in. Making it a bit easier to just stick in your pocket. That’s not a dealbreaker, just thinking out loud. Otherwise, the quality of the cards and tin are both great.

Look. It’s ten bucks. That’s it. People spend more than that on two iced coffees, or a drive-through at a fast food place. But those are things you only get to enjoy once. Whereas you could use these cards in this tin for well over a decade. Plus you can make it a family tradition, or have fun when friends come over. It’s advertised as a kid’s game. But truth be told, we played it more in our dorm’s game room than I ever did as a child. UNO never gets old. Why put it off? Add it to your shopping cart. You’ve got the ten bucks to spare, right now. Check out. It will show up at your home in as soon as a day, if you have Prime free shipping. And you can take that ten dollars, and turn it into million dollar memories with your family. But you can’t do that, if you don’t order it. So buy a set today, you’ll be thankful you did.

Great game! Super fun to play but when I got this package some of the cards were scattered and the metal tin was bended which caused some of the cards to be a bit bended. I couldn’t close the metal tin.It was bended. But after all I would keep this item because I can put the cards back in order (I think it doesn’t really matter if the cards are scattered) but I will have to find another container to put the Uno cards in but after all this was a great item super fun to play and not confusing to learn how to play. It’s great that you can play with over 5 people in this game! This is a fantastic game to play with your kids!

  10. Real Deal<span class="a-icon a-profile-verified-badge"><span class="a-profile-verified-text">

I purchased the UNO Card Game for a family night, and it was a huge hit! This classic card game never gets old, and it’s perfect for players of all ages. The set comes in a collectible storage tin, making it easy to carry around and keep the cards organized.

The game is incredibly simple to learn, making it accessible for younger kids and non-gamers, but it still offers enough strategy to keep older players engaged. With 2 to 10 players, it’s great for large gatherings or small family nights at home.

The cards are durable, and the illustrations are vibrant and fun. We love the special action cards that add a twist to the game, like Skip, Reverse, and Draw Two cards. Plus, the Wild and Wild Draw Four cards can change the game in an instant, keeping everyone on their toes.

Overall, the UNO Card Game is a must-have for family game nights and a fantastic gift for kids and adults alike. It’s a game that never gets old, and it’s sure to bring laughter and friendly competition to any gathering. Highly recommended!
